The idea behind Forced Creative is to gain the advantages of Creative mode without losing achievements. You can switch game modes without activating cheats. To open the game mode switch menu, you only need a regular Stick: hold it and press Crouch.
As for keeping achievements, I'm sorry to say that they were disabled for me when I switched game modes. Nevertheless, the addon still has its uses in worlds where cheats are turned off.
