Progression Pack 2 is a modpack comprised of at least two dozen addons with a single goal: reinventing the survival experience. In essence, it adds extra steps to each advancement you make in the game. Remember how, before, you could just punch a tree, craft a pickaxe, and proceed straight to mining iron? Well, it will not be that simple anymore.

Even crafting something as simple as Wooden Planks requires additional steps now: crafting fiber, gathering stone pebbles and sticks, making the axe, and only then crafting a Wood Chopper block on which you can cut the planks.
But don't worry, the addon does not leave you all alone. You start the game with a book that contains quests, teaching you how to do things here while simultaneously providing you with a clear progression path.
I did have a minor problem with being unable to craft the Wood Chopper block out of Acacia Logs. It seems like the recipe for it only supports Oak for some reason.
What surprised me, though, was that the modpack contains a lot more than just progression changes. While I was wandering around in search of materials, I noticed both new animals and monsters. So, there is a high possibility that the endgame is expanded upon too.
Progression is something I deeply enjoy in games, which is why I like this modpack so much. The early game is arguably the most fun time in Minecraft because you get to find your first precious resources and make your character stronger, and this modpack multiplies that enjoyment.
