In Bittersweet, the early game is significantly more challenging compared to vanilla Minecraft.
Here's what it looks like:
- Punching trees only gives you logs. You'll need to follow a multi-step process involving flint, flint shards, and a chopping block to turn those logs into planks.
- Crafting even basic tools requires additional steps. You might need to find flint and gravel to create a flint knife before progressing to an axe.
- Natural health regeneration is disabled. You'll need to rely on food (which only restores hunger) or crafted healing items to recover health.

With Bittersweet you will see a lot of additional content in the game. Bounties, quests, and structures encourage exploration and provide goals. Minibosses, night sieges, and dungeon towers are difficult to beat but will be fun to explore.
